AASRP – AETA Small Ruminant Embryo Transfer and AI Training Course
June 19-22, 2019
The AASRP, with the support from the American Embryo Transfer Association, will hold a three-day embryo transfer seminar for beginners June 19-21, 2019, at the OSU Large Animal Services Clinic in Marysville, Ohio. If you want to learn small ruminant embryo transfer or if you have begun and are struggling, this seminar is for you. You will be taught the most up-to-date techniques by a staff with years of experience at your side.
Superovulated ewes and/or does will be provided for each student to collect, and then search for, evaluate and freeze embryos on their own. Microscopes, freezers, and all ET equipment will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring any equipment with you. All techniques will be discussed and demonstrated on donor ewes or does before you begin your work on the practice animals. Superovulation, collection, freezing, transfer, estrus synchronization, donor scheduling, embryo morphology, and semen quality evaluations will all be discussed in detail. Additionally, there will be discussion on anesthesia protocols for embryo transfer.
An additional small ruminant Laparoscopic AI training course will be offered on Saturday, June 22. This portion is optional and there is no additional fee to attend this portion of the course for those attending the ET seminar.

A CE certificate will be issued to attendees at the seminar for 24 hours (ET portion only) or 32 hours (ET and lap AI portion)
Registration for the seminar is limited to 24 participants. Registration is limited to CURRENT AASRP or AETA members only. Your registration is not complete until your payment has been received, therefore online payment of $2300 is recommended immediately after registering.

Attendees not driving to the seminar will need to rent a car to travel to the hotel and the seminar location which is Ohio State University Large Animal Services, 16410 County Home Rd., Marysville, OH 43040 located 20 miles from the hotel. We ask that all attendees utilize the room block reserved by the AASRP as these rooms are guaranteed by the organization.
